The Neolithic of southern Arabia can be divided into three phases based on the shape and technique of projectile points. The first phase (Fasad type) dates to 6000-5000 B.C. and is characterized by blade shaped points. The second phase (Arabian Bifacial Tradition) is based on bifacially knapped points (5000-3500 B.C.). The final phase (trihedral rods) is based on extremely fine pressure flaked points (3500-2000 B.C.).
