Ceramics from al Midaman are typical of the Bronze Age Tihamah repertoire found initially at Subr, north of Aden, Sihi, near Ras al Tarfa, numerous Yemeni Tihama coastal sites, and at Adulis in Eritrea. The distinctive red ware is characterized by solid and open handles, holemouth jars, cut bases, and an unusual outer pecking, scoring ornamentation.
