The detailed archaeological survey of the Khor Rohri region turned up numerous sites from different periods. Site 92:45 is the colony-fortress itself. Earlier Iron Age materials were found below the fortress itself, on both sides of the lagoon (95:231- 95:230) and along the eastern promontory (92:46). A large boat-grave cemetery was found further inland (95:255) up the Wadi Darbat. A small seil irrigation scheme was found at 95:230. A large Bronze Age site was found at 92:46. Abbasid period sites were located on the terminal promontories, 92:8 and 92:47.
